Bench desking, reworked

Almost exactly a year after its launch, one of the bench desking ranges we specify most often has been refined and improved — largely in response to what installers and specifiers asked for.

What has changed

• Four desktop options. The updated bench desks now offer four distinct top configurations to suit different workspace needs and aesthetics: cutback, porthole, scalloped or full top.
• Simplified assembly. Cable trays now use a tool-less hook-on bracket system, so a tray can be removed and refitted without tools — genuinely useful when installing monitor arms or accessing cables later. The range still uses a single standard bolt across all components, which keeps installation quick.
• Buildable boardroom tables. Boardroom tables can now be built up from starter and add-on units, so cut-outs and inlays can be incorporated at the point of specification without adding lead time. They are also available in all leg styles: goalpost, A-frame, loop-leg or loop-leg infill.
• Standardised sizing. The A-frame bench is now available in 600, 700 and 800mm depths, in line with the other leg frame options.
• Matching return frames. Leg frames on boardroom tables and bench return desks can be matched to the main bench frame, so a floor reads as one family rather than several.

Why the detail matters

Changes like a tool-less cable tray sound minor on paper and make a real difference on site. They shorten installation, reduce the chance of damage during snagging, and make it far easier to adapt a floor a year later when the team has grown.
